BIM Model — Full System Overview
5VV is a custom residence designed by Battersby Howat Architects in Edmonton, AB. The architecture drives a complex geometry that shaped every mechanical decision — systems had to work around structural elements and tight spatial conditions without ever competing with the design.
INFORM provided complete mechanical design for the project, modelled in Revit for full BIM coordination. Every system was coordinated in the model: HVAC, independent ventilation, range hood and makeup air, plumbing drainage and venting, rainwater leaders, and hydronic heating and snowmelt.
The BIM process isn't just about drawings. It's how we catch conflicts early, resolve coordination issues at the design stage, and hand trades a set of documents they can actually build from. On a project with this level of architectural complexity, that front-end coordination work is what keeps construction moving — along with great people.
