How We Work

Working with INFORM. Simple in three steps.

From first conversation to final inspection — here's what working with our studio actually looks like.

The Plan
01
Tell us about your project.

Send us an email or fill out the form. Tell us where you're at — early design, mid-construction, or somewhere in between. Share your drawings if you have them. We'll take it from there.

02
We design around your architecture.

We learn your project before we touch anything. Heat load calculations, zoning, equipment strategies — we walk through the options together and guide you toward what makes the most sense for the building.

03
Build with confidence.

You receive a complete drawing set — mechanical drawings, details, specifications, and equipment documentation your contractor can actually use. And we stay available through construction, because that's just how we work.

In More Detail
It starts with the right questions.

When you reach out, we want to understand two things straight away. What do you need, and where are you in the process. Sometimes we're brought in at design development, which is ideal. Sometimes we're called in closer to permit. Either way, we'll tell you honestly what's possible and what it'll cost.

Once you have an estimate and want to move forward, we get a call or meeting on the books. That conversation is where we really learn your project. What you're trying to achieve, what the building needs to do, and where the design priorities sit. We ask the right questions and we listen.

Then we get to work.

The heat load calculation comes first. Room by room, it tells us exactly what the building needs — and it's the foundation of every decision that follows. From there we look at zoning. How the building gets divided into systems, where equipment makes sense, how ductwork and plumbing can route without fighting the architecture.

From there we look at system strategy. We walk through the approaches openly — what works for this building, what the tradeoffs are, and what we'd honestly recommend. The conversation is collaborative, and our guidance is always in service of the project.

Once direction is set, we start the drawings. Mechanical, plumbing, HVAC — coordinated with your architectural and structural documents simultaneously. We communicate openly with whoever is at the table. Transparent, collaborative, and treated like a team working toward the same outcome.

What you receive.

A complete drawing set — built to be used on site, not filed away.

Drawing set includes
  • Cover page and project information
  • Mechanical drawings — plumbing, HVAC, hydronic
  • Details and sections
  • Specifications
  • Equipment cut sheets and product documentation
And after delivery.

The final invoice goes out with the drawing set. From there, we stay available. Builder questions, architect questions, contractor questions — we answer them. That's just part of how we work.

Every project starts with a conversation.Let's have one.

Tell us about what you're working on — where it's at, what's complex, what matters most. We'll tell you honestly how and when we can help.
